Studio KO designs new London hotspot, Folie
Having previously designed the notorious Chiltern Firehouse, Studio KO aimed to resurrect "the sensuality and glamour of the 1960s and 70s" in this Soho eatery, which features a menu inspired by the Mediterranean cuisine of southern Italy and France. Curves are everywhere, in the sumptuous leather banquettes, blue velvet armchairs and in a striking floor that combines colourful terrazzo with patterned carpet.

Heliotrope Architects creates secret room inside Seattle’s Cortina restaurant
Local studio Heliotrope Architects has designed an upscale Italian eatery in downtown Seattle with clean lines, various tones of wood and a secret room tucked behind a one-way mirror.

Designer Tristan Plessis and his StudioA/Tristan Plessis Studio took client Milk & Honey Group SA’s straightforward brief and translated it into his own version of edgy decadence. The dark colouring and the hard wood and marble are nicely softened by velvet seating and curved forms. The surprises in this space are the curving, beveled white ‘paneling’ that covers some of the walls and even the ceiling in one area by the bar, and the striped marble flooring that makes the bar-front area stand out.
