Kuki Chair by Zaha Hadid for Sawaya & Moroni

Recently shown in the Sawaya & Moroni showroom during Milan Design Week is the Kuki Chair, a limited edition design by Zaha Hadid for the Italian brand. The bright indigo blue chair is created from a single plastic surface which has been manipulated into a series of folds and bends which produce its final freestanding form.

Tourist Information Baiersbronn by Partner und Partner Architekten

A tourist information center in the Black Forest region of Baiersbronn was given a unique makeover by the practice of Partner und Partner Architekten. The 160 sq.m. space is entirely defined by what appears to be a pile of wood 15.5 meters long and 2.4 meters wide!

Altered Appliances by the Piet Zwart Institute Students

Students from Rotterdam’s Piet Zwart Institute presented their project. Altered Appliances this month during the 2013 Milan Design Week. This collection of four low-tech hand powered kitchen utensils were shown during a live demonstration where they explained the making process of each object.
