Szwalnia, Polish for ‘sewing room’, is an interior design concept for a bar/restaurant, by Karina Wiciak of Wamhouse. The installation is the 8th in a 12 part collection of imaginative concept designs entitled ‘XII’ which Ms Wiciak intends to complete within a 12 month period.

‘Necessity is the mother of invention’ is a saying which certainly applies in the case of the origin of the Living Cube. When German born, Bern based young designer Till Koenneker of the practice of illDesigns moved into a small apartment, he was confronted with a dire lack of space which he addressed through the creation of this ingenious multi-functional item of furniture.

The Rusted Bookshelf is a design project undertaken by Greek architect and designer, Eleftherios Ambatzis. The task at hand was to create an object or screen which would visually divide a poolside terrace into two distinct spaces. Rather than a simple screen, the designer created a functional object with a powerful sculptural element, a double sided bookcase.
