Kounellis at the Monnaie

The great Jannis Kounellis’ exhibition at the Monnaie in Paris is an exquisite exercise in intarsia in which he re-proposes and inserts major old works and peaks drawn from his considerable catalogue.

At Monnaie de Paris, Jannis Kounellis has composed a dramatic sculpture throughout the thousand square metres of the 18th-century exhibition rooms of this Palace beside the Seine. Neues Museum|David Chipperfield Architects

The Neues Museum was designed by Friedrich August Stuler and built between 1841 and 1859. Extensive bombing during World War II left the building in ruins. Few attempts at repair were made after the war, and the structure was left exposed to nature.

Photographer Jean-Philippe Piter’s Sensual Nudes Capture in All of Its Beauty

Jean-Philippe Piter has lived on the paradisiacal Caribbean island of St. Barthélemy since 1997. He captures its lush topography and watery surrounds in color and black-and-white photographs that have aided in defining its character and appeal.

Piter was bit by the photography bug at the age of 16.
