Two show apartments have opened inside Zaha Hadid Architects' 520 West 28th project, nearing completion in New York's Chelsea. With construction work on the 11-storey luxury condo building almost complete, developer Related Companies is hoping to entice buyers to snap up the remaining units.

The private facilities, also designed by the Swiss architects, span 17,000 square feet (1,5880 square metres) across the ninth and 10th floors of the 60-storey building at 56 Leonard Street.Concrete is used predominantly across the two levels, which are connected up a sculptural circular staircase also made from the material.

One of the most satisfying things for an Architect must be when the client presents an opportunity to radically overhaul a building that has been left to decay, giving them the chance to inject much needed love and transform it into a something truly stunning. A great example of this would be MM House by Nicolas Schuybroek Architects, located in the leafy and affluent Chapultepec, Mexico City.

Designed by local studio AGi Architects – whose previous projects include a home that produces its own mist – Wall House provides a home for a family in Khaldiya, a suburb of Kuwait City.

Vases that float like jellyfish in the water. 30 vases of various sizes are placed in a 1800 mm aquarium filled with water and the strength and direction of the water’s current is carefully adjusted so that they undulate moderately.

The façade of the building where Piuarch is located – in the courtyard of Via Palermo 5 – will hold an installation completed in collaboration with the landscape architect Cornelius Gavril, in which a vegetable patch/garden decorates the entire front of the building from ground to roof.

Located in Melbourne‘s Elsternwick, Penta is a 125 square metre café designed by the local Architecture & Interior Design Studio Ritz&Ghougassian. A polished grey concrete floor is lightly ground back to expose loose ends of aggregate. Orthogonal concrete elements rise from the floor creating a coffee and waiting station, married with terrazzo clad plinths, which form seating.
