Miuccia Prada presented for fall 2013 a show of what seemed to be a parade of her greatest hits. According to Katie Grant, the editor of Love magazine, “she is heavily referenced by everyone, so it’s brilliant when she references herself”. The atmosphere was very film noir and the models reminded us of Hitchcock’s heroines.

The French street artist, known as IEMZA, has risen to fame in his native city of Reims. Unlike the familiar sight of spray paint graffiti, the art of IEMZA is made up of lined drawings which bring to mind sketches and architectural drawings. Within his work we can see wide eyed alien faces, insects and creatures from another dimension, fantastic buildings from the world of dreams.

The DKNY Fall 2013 collection was recently presented against a backdrop of an illuminated New York skyline. Faithful followers, young and old applauded her collection of ready to wear urban focused garments. While the DKNY target group is the younger buyer, there were many familiar silhouettes from the 90s and a nostalgic retro, reinvented to please most age groups.

In the heart of California’s Silicon Valley, the recent redesign of Skype’s Palo Alto HQ was carried out by the architectural practice of Blitz. The intention of the project was to create an exceptional work environment which would outdo their competitors and make it attractive to prospective employees in Skype’s constant search for the best talent in the IT market.

Tomas Saraceno is an Argentinian artist well known for his extra large and often fun filled interactive installations. His current work refers to the creation of a functioning solar powered hot air balloon which he claims anyone can construct by using easily obtained materials and following his 59 steps as laid down in his list of instructions.

The second Superbude affordable hotel come hostel recently opened in Hamburg. The establishment is located in the lively area of St. Pauli and was designed by the German interdisciplinary design practice of Dreimeta.
