An exhibition currently on show at the Budweis House of Art in the Czech Republic is Ku u so u by Japanese architect Takeshi Hosaka. The title means ‘imagination’ in Japanese and refers to the initial thoughts of a design concept, which doesn’t necessarily reach fruition.

A radical redesign of Terminal 2 in the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris was undertaken by Marc Fidele and Andrei David, the architects of the Paris Airport Engineering and Architectural Management. A huge public space of this type has to stand up to the wear and tear of thousands of travellers who pass through on a daily basis.

The Big Island, as the largest island in Hawaii is known, was mainly formed by the eruptions from the island’s active volcanoes. It is on this island, in the middle of Ohia forest, an indigenous tree which takes root on lava, that Lavaflow 7, a home designed by the local practice of Craig Steely Architecture is to be found.

Refugia Hotel designed by the practice of Mobil Arquitectos is an elegant linear structure which exerts a light footprint on the environmentally sensitive region of Chiloe, an island in the Lakes Region of Southern Chile. 

Fox House by Pique Architecture is a sustainable design project for a family home in Portland, Oregon. Situation on an elevated site, the house enjoys premium views of the surrounding landscape. The original concept was envisioned by a friend of the Fox family, as a series of three rectangular box shaped volumes which referenced the views of The Three Sisters Mountains.

This contemporary family home located in Naxxar, Malta encompasses everything required by its owners and was constructed on an especially compact site of just 250 sq.m. Hanging House is the design of a young local architect, Chris Briffa, who was not fazed by the challenge, as he believes that architecture is ‘not so much about size as proportion and choice of material.’
