Architecture

My first approach to design, or rather to architecture, was through painting. As a child I wanted to become a painter and it was my painting teacher who at some point suggested I should become an architect. Architecture, then, for me was something too abstract and difficult to comprehend.

The private residence is situated in the outskirts of Monemvasia, in a high pitch ground with panoramic view to the sea. Residence spaces are organized in three levels (underground floor, ground floor and upper floor) along a corridor which includes the main entrance of the building.

Architect Emrah Cetinkaya has submitted a proposal for the design of the new Izmir Opera House. This is a project challenging architects to create a building which will establish the city of Izmir as a Center for Commerce and Culture.

Deutsche Bank has now a new headquarter in its historic location in Frankfurt. To sign it is the Milanese architect Mario Bellini, who has radically refurbished and renewed the two towers after winning, in December 2006, an international competition by invitation.
