The idyllic unspoiled beauty of the Azores was the inspiration for a design project of the Portugese firm of architects, Aires Mateus and associates. The two year project at Lagoa da Furnas, Portugal, covers an area of 1130m2, was completed in 2010 for clients, SPRAcores.

Located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province of China is Slit House, a project undertaken by AZL Architects and lead by Zhang Lei in collaboration with the Architectural Design and Planning Institute of Nanjing University.

The clients' top priority was to gain the feeling of maximum security in their future house, which determined the building's outlook and performance. The house took the form of a cuboid in which parts of the exterior walls are movable.
