This multi-functional complex is one of the first of many to be built in a new ‘civilized industrial area’ on the outskirts of Greater Shanghai, China. The low-lying elongated structure becomes one with the lie of the land as it snakes around a man made lake and a series of canals.

Designed by award winning Marcio Kogan Architects, this stunning residence is to be found on a mountain side on one of the hundreds of islands of the colonial city of Paraty, near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The house is built on a hillside overlooking the Gulf of Corinth. Due to the natural slope of the ground it is developed on three levels (basement with ancillary spaces, ground floor with the main living spaces and a mezzanine level above the kitchen), in shape resembling a cube sitting on the hillside.

The Cabin is designed for adaption to multiple settings not taking any particular site into consideration, being a product for mass-production distribution. The general idea is to establish a Cabin-concept that favours a nice landscape setting with the need of appreciating a wonderful view.

Babis Ioannou and Tasos Sotiropoulos start their cooperation in 1977 by undertaking complex building projects in Saudi Arabia, as well as the construction of flats and houses in Greece. In 1982 Alexander Van Gider joins the team and they establish ISV Architects and partners.
