Constructed on a grassy slope overlooking the town of Decin in the Czech Republic, Villa Decin enjoys the best of both worlds, a rural setting with urban amenities. The 750 sq.m. home was designed by the practice of Studio Pha, who created a residence within a simple geometric structure positioned on a stone base, which accommodates ample parking and storage space.
The upper level, which contains the sleeping quarters cantilevers over the public spaces and provides shade or the terrace which leads to the deck and pool area. The concept of openness of the indoor/outdoor spaces connected through the vast expanses of glazing is enhanced by the uninterrupted view of the town in the valley below. The material palette of the indoor space hints at a no expenses spared budget through the choice of the finest marble, stone and dark wood completing a home of understated elegance and sophistication.
