A recent project by Athens based K-studio, Souk is a reinterpretation of a Lebanese street market, set in the coastal town of Glyfada. The self service 24 hour eatery is comprised of several individual kiosks made of wood and steel set between the concrete columns of the existing building, a reference to the street food stalls of Beirut.

The suspended light fittings, designed to resemble ceramic pots, the faded mosaic floor tiles and other elements of Islamic architecture and design define this contemporary space. Stripped wood and exposed pipework introduce an industrial feel and the functional trestle tables surrounded by a selection of modern chairs  and a neon sign represent a city street chic.

The culture of Beirut is combined with an eclectic style in a flexible contemporary dining space, adding an additional option to the multi culti Athenian dining experience.
