The Pop Up Office by the practice of OHLAB  is a temporary office space which the architects Jaime and Paloma Hernaiz describe as a form of ‘Spanish Guerilla Strategy’. The ‘attack’ in this instance took place in the basement area of a warehouse in Palma de Mallorca where, with the minimum of cost and reusable materials, the designers created an ultra-smart temporary office space.

A single space was created by the demolition of all partitions in the allocated area but the raw concrete walls were left in place, in line with the industrial aesthetic of the design concept. The floors were painted a stark white to contrast with the black lacquered USM modular furniture and the final touch came via the client’s own items of furniture and artwork which, once installed, brought the project to completion.

This is a workable concept which is simple to duplicate in most spaces without wasting resources, just by improvisation and using readily available items, a simple yet functional office may be created with the minimum of effort and expense and just as important, it may be dismantled and reused again and again.
