Visitors to the 2013 Art Fair ARCO in Madrid were welcomed by the Paper Chandeliers installation designed by Spanish architect Cristina Parreno in collaboration with MIT Architecture. Made entirely of paper tubes, the installation covered the entire ceiling of the entrance to the exhibition in a sweeping movement of rising and falling curves, resembling an inverted hilly landscape.

Commissioned for Fundacia Arco, a non-profit contemporary art organization, this mesmerizing piece of art was conceived through the merging of the genres of architecture and art and it ticks all the boxes in terms of an impressive installation, constructed of a recyclable, inexpensive material.
