The limited edition collection, Objects Nomades for Louis Vuitton was launched at Design Miami 2012. This iconic brand, synonymous with the spirit of adventure through their range of luxury travel items, references its 19th century roots in Objects Nomades when Louis Vuitton and his son George offered a bespoke service to their distinguished clientele of intrepid adventurers in order to fulfill their travel needs.
The 21st century versions are incredible designs for accessories by an amazing lineup of international designers. As a taster of this contemporary limited edition, there’s the fringed hanging cabinet by the Campana brothers of Brazil, constructed from offcuts from the workshops of Louis Vuitton and a hammock with a design inspired by pasta shapes and an origami shaped folding stool by the Swiss practice of Atelier Oi. In addition, the Japanese giants, Nendo submitted their design for a curving perforated lamp with LED lights. The Spanish designer, Patricia Urquiola took the LV monogramme as inspiration for her stool which folds up into a handbag.
The Objects Nomades collection will be available from the New Bond Street, London branch of Louis Vuitton as well as the Miami Design district.
