This intriguing collection of handmade jewelry is the creation of San Paulo based designer Fernando Akasaka. Known for his amazing designs for contemporary furniture, lamps and household objects, his jewelry collection was born out of constant experimentation with precious metals.
Each unique item is created from pure silver - both polished and oxidized giving a black finish - with exotic animal skins of genuine stingray and crocodile. Strong Punk and Goth influences can be discerned through the alternative and sometimes ‘dark’ feel of the items. Claws, reptiles and shell like creatures in their primordial form appear in earrings, necklaces, bracelets and cuffs.
The designer describes his collection as ‘exciting, provocative and wild’ which can be seen through the organic shapes of the this range of unisex body adornments.
