The small town of Poitiers in France was the location for this project by Antonin Fourneau. A wall containing numerous LED lights which were activated when they came in contact with moisture, was set up in the centre of town for a period of three days, and the locals and visitors were invited to participate in this interactive installation.
Using a variety of methods, sponges, damp hands, spray guns etc, the public were able to express themselves pictorially or simply by writing on the wall. Although the artist considers the piece to be ‘low tech’ he feels that the introduction of the concept on a larger scale with a longer lasting material, may provide an outlet for ephemeral messages without damaging public spaces, a public forum for creativity and self expression.
