In line with the ongoing revolution in the field of hospitality with concept hotels, boutique hotels, art and design hotels, all providing their guests with more than just a place to stay for a few nights. The Hotel Droog in Amsterdam, designed by Droog, differs from all the above, in that guest rooms are not high in its list of priorities! It only provides one guest suite on the top floor of the 17th century heritage building in which it is housed!

The Hotel Droog is a multifunctional space, its ‘rooms’ include galleries, an exhibition space, a Cosmania cosmetics store, a Kabinet fashion store, a Weltevree products area and an expansive dining room which serves local dishes.

The establishment is a direct attempt to encourage people to converge in one building and take advantage of the opportunity to attend an event, learn something new, shop or simply have a meal. At the centre of the building is a fantastic little garden, a place of relaxation created by French designer Claude Pasquer and Corinne Detroyal. It is  planted with a delightful assortment of colourful flowers and edible plants which will attract birds, insects and butterflies, another unexpected space in what can only be described as a very unusual ‘hotel.’
