Those who love the sea do not like limitations. Those seeking the infinite overcome barriers. This thought permeates every design detail of the Navetta 30, a yacht project by architect Filippo Salvetti and the Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel Design Studio.
The hull, designed by Salvetti, extends across three decks, with spaces that express the seamless dialog between interior shapes and exterior proportions, curved details and long, lean horizontal lines. Light streams in everywhere, thanks to the 2-meter height of the covered spaces and the vast windows that line the hull.
The interiors by Citterio and Viel marry nautical tradition with a distinct feeling of home, as seen in the deep sea-blue walls that form the backdrop for wood furniture and accessories with details in natural cowhide. The handrail is also covered in cowhide, the door frames of the interior doors are rounded, and the walls and stairwell are lined in teak – solutions that create continuity and celebrate the extreme coherence of the design.
The most classic marine materials, like the cord features on the sofas and chairs in the outdoor areas, get a refreshing designer update. Many of the pieces are from the Flexform collections, including some of the classics, like the Evergreen sofa, the A.B.C.D. armchair and the Jiff side tables.
