Unveiled at Salone del Mobile furniture design fair in Milan was Dock, a modular seating system capable of 84 different configurations. Designed by Piero Lissoni for B&B Italia, Dock supersedes most modular seating arrangements in terms of versatility and flexibility in usage.
The Base of the Dock seating system is a solid wooden frame which is likened to a waterside bridge or jetty, hence the name. It may be placed directly on the floor or raised on metal legs. Through the options available in the thickness of cushions, armrests, with or without back support, oval or round tables in clear or smoked glass, the system may be configured to suit any space irrelevant of shape or size.
Created with relaxation in mind, its welcoming informality is influenced by the ‘Eastern style divan’, according to the designer, it has been transposed into the contemporary world to become a new generation seating option.
