The new showroom Spazio Cappellini Milano, via Borgogna 8, hosts a retrospective about Jasper Morrison, investigating the English designer’s creative language and celebrating his 35 years of collaboration with Cappellini. A long story studded with timeless products which have become design icons, whose great success demonstrates the constant work of the brand and the designer in keeping the dialogue between past, present and future always alive. The exhibition shows Jasper Morrison’s clear design coherence and his growth path, always finding in Cappellini an excellent interpreter.
Simple, light and essential, Jasper Morrison’s products stand out for their elegance and extremely minimalist design, which make them eclectic, versatile, and suitable for any architectural context. From the pieces of the early days, such as the Thinking Man’s Chair or the One Legged Table, to the products of the following years, such as the Elan sofa or the Low Pad armchair, up to the Lotus chair and the Oblong and Orla sofas: a skilful use of materials combined with a particular attention to details make these products silent companions of daily living. In the exhibition, completely curated by Giulio Cappellini, there are also everyday objects selected by Jasper Morrison himself: the designer’s choices were guided by the simplicity and originality that made these pieces unique and everlasting.
