When you live in a climate that’s pleasant and warm all year round, you’ve got the perfect scenario for a stunning open concept home.With every building that adopts an open concept, however, the challenge is to find innovative ways to still provide the residents with enough privacy to make them feel comfortable and safe in their daily lives.

A slender swimming pool runs along one side of this concrete house in western Austria by Marte.Marte Architects, offering bathers views towards the Rhine Valley.Feldkirch-based practice Marte.Marte Architects designed the concrete house and pool for a sloped site overlooking the valley, which lies between the Austrian state of Vorarlberg and the Swiss canton of St Gallen.

The aim is a striking, graphic, minimal space offset with polished brass archways ribboning around the store to highlight the colourful, feminine collections. The textured render of the store front frames large glass panels offering maximum sight lines into the store.

Designed by Lucas y Hernández-Gil, H71 is 200sqm apartment set on the border between Madrid‘s museum precinct in Paseo del Prado and the Barrio de las Letras (Literary Quarter), the model of the ancient city.

The Stella Collective has transformed a Melbourne‘s inner city cafe into a true celebration of coffee and imagination. In its previous life, the space had been a cramped and dark city canteen in need of some serious love.

Located on the first floor of La Maison du Danemark is Copenhague, a more formal restaurant where Chef Andreas Moller prepares unique Scandinavian specialties. Now one of the most popular restaurants in Paris, Copenhague offers creative cuisine, spectacular views and a fit-out that’s to die for! Unlike Flora Danica, Copenhague is draped in darker, more intense colours and textures.

With a design concept taken from the store’s name, Endpiece is an optical store in Seoul, South Korea, designed by WGNB, in which the real hero is the hyper-scale chunky knitted wall. The best part? The wall isn’t just a pretty, just-cause gesture – but rather links closely to Endpiece’s brand identity.
