Chair affairs is a creative idea born from the need to combine different aspects of design which in turn, create unique & sophisticated armchairs. Each armchair is transformed in a field of setting trends in design, scenography and fashion, creating fascinating and intriguing human characters. At the same time, the nature of the exhibition refers to the applied arts and crafts, especially the couture “sur mesur”.
The artist chooses as a model, not a person but a useful object, a chair. This object carries human characteristics and becomes a portrait, not of a person, but a particular type of person, while embodying information of sociological interest. They are literally transformed into theatrical personas which build a sense of an idea born from the need to highlight different aspects of objects that surround us and serve us every day. This environment is the main witness of who we really are and in some sense the extension of ourselves. The art pieces stand as a collective portrait of an era, defined by image as a loving reminder of the world of entertainment, that far from the stage lights are impersonal and lonely.

Anastasia Georgopoulos is a designer and creative director whose career has been highlighted by versatility, innovation and improvisation. As an art director with long list of collaborations in different fields of art scenes such as design studios, theater, fashion, editorials, events, video clips and scenography...
After completing her studies in Milan, Italy, Anastasia start working in the design industry of Italy for 4 years and then start moving her activities also in NY, Dubai and Athens for several projects. As a third culture kid she has assimilated different aspects in cultures and that is a key element that reflects in her work. A need to combine different aspects of design and cultural messages, Chair affairs is the outcome of all these experiences together that lead her to the first personal exhibition. Her work has been published in Vogue magazine, design magazines and newspapers.
