The LN-CC (Late Night Chameleon Café) is a new concept in shopping and leisure. The brainchild of friends, Dan Mitchell and John Skelton, this ex-boxing gym in Dalston, East London, has been transformed into an avante-garde entertainment and retail space by set designer, Gary Card.
The huge 6000sqf basement area contains a book and record store stocking ultra rare labels as well as vintage and collectibles, reflecting the taste of the owners. The androgynous clothes store specializes in street wear not usually found in high street stores, an amalgamation of alternative and obscure designer’s creations. The spaces are connected by an art installation of an indoor forest and a tunnel of raw wood and orange acrylic. In the rear of the basement is a nightclub complete with a disco ball.
The owners describe the destination as an evolving project on a personal level. There are plans to open a gallery in the near future in which they intend to hold exhibitions and show films. Not surprisingly this is a by appointment only place, to enable visitors to enjoy the total experience.
