This playful, contemporary open space loft of unique character is a result of the refurbishment of famous architect Oscar Niemeyer’s original 140m2 apartment in Sao Paulo Brazil, brought to life by Felipe Hess and Renata Pedrosa.

Located on the 31st floor, the apartment, which originally consisted of 3 bedrooms, was converted into an open, fluid space, whose main ingredient is concrete, both the form of furniture and structure. Exposed concrete walls and original ceiling beams have been combined with large steel robust dividers offering this way the possibility of opening or closing off the private area from the rest of the loft, without the need for any permanent partitions. Adorned with remaining columns and shafts, the social side of the flat is full of surprising elements, quirky touches and memorabilia that add a cozy and personal touch. The kitchen is divided by a solid concrete block which acts as an island, kitchen table and divider.

Classic and modern design appear to have merged perfectly and allowed room for exciting hidden surprises within the details of the decorative scheme of this dynamic and sexy apartment.
