Y-3’s collection by designer Yohji Yamamoto contained a selection of outfits for young people of both sexes.
Influenced by the deceased pop icons of the 60’s and 70’s, we caught glimpses of garments which could have been worn by them but the way in which the clothes were worn by the models and the accessories that accompanied them stretched the imagination somewhat.
In the main, black was the color featured in this show with the odd appearance of white or grey as well as jewel and primary shades. The styling of the models was dark and threatening with a strong gothic influence. Low slung pants in all lengths worn with bras or cropped tops for the girls with lots of flesh on show. The boys were given a tailored look to some degree while remaining true to the rock theme of the collection by the unexpected asymmetry of the jackets..
