Gail Reid, 29, completed her degree in Fine Arts Fashion Design at Queensland University of Technology and launched her label in 2005 at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (RAFW) after winning the Mercedes-Benz Start-Up Awards with her debut collection Angel at my Table.
In 2007 Gail Sorronda was invited to be a part of Designers for Target Australia. This collaboration saw Gail Sorronda for Target in stores nationally. In 2010 Gail was selected for the third time as a finalist in the 2010 L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival Designer Award.
Later in 2010 Gail was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Alta Roma Who Is on Next competition in collaboration with Vogue Italia. Gail Sorronda was featured in the September issue of Vogue Italia and the ss11 Murmur collection was shown in group shows at Rome and Milan Fashion Week and presented to Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld and Franca Sozzani at a Vogue Talents exhibition.
Most recently Gail Sorronda presented their Spring Summer 2012 Stem The Flow collection at RAFW and received positive reviews from local and international press. This was the labels’ fifth consecutive showing at the event.
Gail Sorronda is stocked internationally including the International Gallery BEAMS (Japan) and the Dolce & Gabbana Spiga2 store who has exclusively stocked the label in Milan for the third season. Dolce & Gabbana were quoted in Vanity Fair that Gail Sorronda is one of the top selling labels in their store.
