The latest collaboration between two global icons is that of Marc Jacobs and Diet Coke. His recent appointment as Creative Director for 2013 is marked by the 30th anniversary of Diet Coke and the ‘Sparkling together for 30 years’ campaign.
This milestone event is being celebrated by the issuing of special edition cans and bottles which bear the designs of Marc Jacobs. In his inimitable style, the designs pay homage to the growing empowerment of females over the past three decades. Each of the three designs depict a female figure, one in an androgynous black suit and top hat, another in a feminine pink dress and the third in fashionable street mode.
As an introduction to the collection, Marc Jacobs stars in a short file called ‘Marc Jacobs photo booth break’ where he displays his impressively muscular 50 year old physique which brings back memories of the advertisements of the 90s, which inevitably featured a shirtless male drinking from a can of Diet Coke.
