This surrealistic outdoor installation is the work of Kurdish/Turkish artist, Ahmet Ogut. This young artist, known for a sense of humour and social comment within his work, submitted the inflatable piece for the TRACK exhibition in Ghent, Belgium.
The castle on the cliff shaped balloon, is a replica of the city’s historical Vooruit public arts centre, and by its situation, residents and visitors alike are challenged to consider aspects of the contrasts of the accessible and inaccessible as reality or fantasy. The artists invited to submit works for this event were asked that their work represent various aspects of the city of Ghent as a source of inspiration.
This no boundaries exhibition, in public and semi-public spaces will run from mid May to mid September, 2012.
