The outstanding feature of this environmentally futuristic property is its ability to integrate within its natural elements without losing its contemporary touch, which lies between the linearity and geometry of the building.
As one enters the property, the gigantic, abstract-circular installation instantly attracts the eye and takes the center stage. The exterior consists of recycled teak timber, train tracks and stacked lava rock, all materials deeply embedded in the Hawaiian tradition. Sculpted wood ceilings and screens enhance the traditional custom of wood carving. A sequence of pods is dispersed throughout the property, each having distinctive features and view opportunities. Two sleeping pods are strategically placed within the plot, housing the main living space, the master suite, a media room and common areas. An exterior gallery corridor is used as a focal feature to connect the two pods.
