AN ODE TO THE KITCHEN – One of Vipp’s hero products, the V1 kitchen, distinguished for its precision and materiality, and exuding a contemporary, pure minimalism is presented in a remarkable copper coating and will be framed by a protective shell of burnt wood made according to ancient techniques of wood preservation. Like the act of cooking, this wood touched by fire represents the archaic beginnings of humanity. “This installation is an ode to what is so essential to all of us: the kitchen. It evokes all that is so central to our collective imagination: sharing meals and the art of cooking.” – Karl Fournier, Studio KO
Vipp pedal bin, copper edition
Timed to the installation, Vipp will unveil a limited-edition pedal bin in a special copper finish designed by Studio KO echoing the material palette of the space and reflects the studio’s appreciation of materials with deep narratives and warm nuances.
“It’s both warm and cold – cold due to the metal, warm because of its colour. And the tension between these qualities is what interests us, as it illustrates the idea of an encounter between seemingly opposing forces.”
– Karl Fournier, Studio KO
Highlights include an endless modular Vipp Loft sofa and the best-selling Vipp Swivel chair upholstered in a Pierre Frey textile that evokes an ancient culture and craftsmanship through a tradition of artisanal hand weaving. The designs embody the contrast between the clean lines of Scandinavian design and the more organic quality of traditional artisanry.
