La Lampada is a small lamp for indoor use. The body of the lamp is ceramic and the head is made from beech wood. Resembling a cyclope with its single eye, its head can turn at 90° on right or left for lightening and seems to look at you permanently.
Old student from the studio of Olivier Mourgue at l’Ecole Superieure d’Art de Brest (France), Claude Saos graduated from l’Ecole Superieure d’Art de Quimper (France) in photography. He works as a freelance designer since 2007. Through each of his objects, carrying in them a part of humor and emotion, he is trying to tell narratives or debuts of narratives that the user can then appropriate to throw his own feelings, sensations and behaviour. In manufacturing process, he is more interested in craft processes, in limited edition, conferring a more human dimension to his objects, a more intimate but also more fragile relationship between objects and users.
"I try to make objects that are not only functional or aesthetic objects. I hope they have always something to tell." -Claude Saos
