Young designer Phillip Lim made his debut at Paris fashion week with his Fall/Winter 2011 menswear collection. He received accolades for his ability to combine tailored elegance with comfort while introducing an element of innovation. He likes to refer to his designs as being “sartorial idiosyncrasies.”
Replacing the conventional buttons on a blazer with hook and eye fastenings, surprising color combination of electric green and navy jacquard, evening sweatpants and a tailored suit which is worn with a sleeveless knit high neck sweater on top, are just a few of the characteristics of the collection.
This collection was deemed to be his strongest yet, as he once again demonstrated his proven skill to design tailored clothes with an element of surprise.
