Designed by antonio citterio, the asolo sofa unmistakably mirrors the DNA of FLEXFORM; its quintessential style has been married with outstanding comfort. its generous yet well-balanced proportions, which are devoid of any sharp corners, creates the base for this initial impression. a clustering of soft pieces embellish the body with large, fluffy cushions filled either with blown polyester fiber and goose down. the sofa then sits atop a streamlined metal based with a silver-grey painted finish.
The body of the asolo sofa is tailored with couture upholstery, but it can be upholstered in any fabrics or leather from the italian brand’s extensive collection. the armrest, too, is elegantly pleated to highlight its attention to even the smallest of construction details. the design is not only comfortable, sophisticated and relaxed, it is also versatile to fit any setting, from classic to contemporary.
Created by FLEXFORM’s in-house design team, the pico dining and coffee tables blend a clear sense of visual lightness with dynamism. there is a distinct fluidity as the cast aluminum legs, which are available in a number of finishes, taper down from the rounded top. this top surface can be made from various types of marble or wood veneers, such as canaletto walnut and ash for the latter. the countless combinations of finishes for the structure and top reinforces the table’s great versatility. it is also available in an array of sizes, from the dining table to the coffee tables.
There is a complexity at the core of the seemingly simple silhouette of the tessa armchair, designed by antonio citterio. its construction details are left bare for all to see, showcasing traditional joinery as well as hands-craftsmanship. the structure is made entirely from solid ash or turned canaletto walnut to enhance the natural texture, feel of the wood, and artisanal image of the design. a delicate yet strong paper rush cord is woven for the seat and backrest, which is another tradition sourced from rural italy. optional soft cushions can then be added and held in place by slender straps to complete its deep welcoming character. the family is complete with an ottoman, bench and coffee table, which can be surfaced in a number of types of marble.
Sophisticated construction details are also on show with the gregory bed designed by antonio citterio. its flawless proportions sit on a metal frame and cast aluminum feet crafted in a number of elegant finishes. here, there is a subtle contrast against the metal thanks to the cowhide stripes, available in tobacco, dark brown or black color. the generously padded headboard is designed to ensure consistent comfortable support. with either an elegant tone-on-tone or contrasting color grospain piping, the headboard’s either fabric or leather upholstery is completely removable.
Created by their in-house design center, the joyce armchair and chair strike the perfect balance between contemporary and classicism. its distinctive metal structure not only supports the shell but also offers an intriguing aesthetic motif that adds character to its back. then, the enveloping contours of the shell are crafted in metal and molded polurethane. the metal base comes in two elegant finished – burnished or powder-coat white – whereas the removable upholstery is available in any of fabric or leather from FLEXFORM’s collection.
The christophe pillet-designed first steps chair and stool complete the FLEXFORM 2020 indoor collection. it is an exploration of the essence of things, where its simplicity in form traces back to the archetype object-chair. its discreet metal structure and backrest, which are painted in either a white or burnished finish, supports a tightly woven seat and backrest. the weave is hand-made in either paper cord or paper rush cord to create a distinct pattern when viewed up close. the chair can be paired with a versatile bar stool.
