Naramata Cabin, located on the banks of Lake Okanagan in Naramata, in Canada, was designed by the Vancouver-based practice of Robert Bailey Interiors, who based their design concept on their client’s sketches and the magnificent lakeside surroundings.
The two-level structure on terraced grounds adheres to a simple material palette with natural stonework and wood taking a leading role. The weathered French oak of the ceilings and floors represents the most defining design element of the interior, an open contemporary space with generous indoor/outdoor connected spaces, a highly functional home created for enjoyment and ease of management.
Furnished for comfort rather than ‘showroom’ design, it was important for the family that the spirit of a humble lakeside cabin should live on within the walls of their new residence. To this end, a vacation home has been designed which can stand up to the wear and tear of the hustle and bustle of a fun loving family!
