Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s usually turn into travel for inspiring their collections. This season, however, the design duo found inspiration through “the warmth of domesticity”. They presented sleek, ultra-sophisticated looks as they “pulled a lot of ideas from that world of interiors.” Proenza Schouler referenced furniture designers and artists such as Sergio Rodrigues, Robert Ryman, and Piero Manzoni. “Glass and chrome and white lacquer,” said McCollough of those vintage interiors that turned them on, “mixed up with a shaggy Moroccan rug.” “It’s minimal,” added Hernandez, “but there’s a warmth, an earthiness to it with all those green plants.” We loved the long pleated skirts and the spring coats they presented which were among the best we saw among many. Cannot wait to see their metallic evening looks down the red carpet.
