Bottega Veneta's S/S 2014 collection is a portrait of business class style and relaxed luxury. The show began with a man in a grey flannel suit that sparked visions of the late 1950’s that were all about ultra-cool Rat Pack vibe. That vision was sharpened by the Miles Davis soundtrack playing on the background. This initial impression of jazzy cool never let up since the collection was layered with many subtle references to the era from slim tailored grey suits to suede baseball jackets to checked pyjama-inspired looks. Tomas Maier went a step further exploring the process of design; almost every look had what seemed like tailor’s chalk marks defining the outline of a pocket or lapel and though sometimes the ultimate shape of the pocket had changed the old outline remained.
This is a collection to turn to if you want to look like you have as much style as you do riches, Chuck Bass would have bought the whole collection I reckon.
