The young Spanish fashion designer Alba Prat continues to impress with her Spring/Summer 2013 collection. A recent graduate of the University of Arts in Berlin, her very personal take on design literally comes from the heart.
Inspired by the minimal mathematical music of Carsten Nicolai, the patterns on her garments are a data variation of her own heartbeat. By means of special software, the abstract form of her heartbeat both in repose and after exercise was translated into the designs.
A basic color palette of red and blue with black and white and simple shapes is the key of the collection, the mesmerizing patterns on the fabric raise it to an innovative level. This is another exciting example of a peek into the future of design where the daring young designers use a fusion of the arts and sciences, in this case music, technology and fashion to produce their wares.
