Located in Tokyo, Portico is house made up of four distinct volumes that stand out in their simplicity and cleanliness. The central element rests on the remaining three volumes allowing for light to flow through the interior of the structure. Although it may seem that natural light will have a hard time finding its way into Portico, Aida have managed to create a very bright interior that plays with colour, shadow and reflection.
Beautiful in its simplicity, ironically we rarely come across such equilibrium and functionality in homes. However, Aida Atelier have certainly succeeded in creating an emotion within their architecture.
