"Aesthetics 125" is a sculpture unveiled by Mercedes-Benz to celebrate the 125th birthday of the automobile. The sculpture is a projection of the Mercedes-Benz philosophy that states "design is art."
Using innovative rapid-prototyping technology, Mercedes was able to render the digital makeup of the object and transferring it directly into its final physical form. This process works with various materials and applies them in fine layers so no waste material is produced when the sculpture is made.
So is this what Benz holds in store for the future? I'd like to think so, and having seen this particular sculpture up close during the salone this year, I have to say it is truly a work of art and I think you'll agree.
