Designed by the Israeli practice of Pitsou Kedem Architects, Kfar Shmaryahu House is a grand single family residence of 600 sq.m. constructed on a generous site within the urban fabric of Tel Aviv.

The four-bedroom home is built on two levels with the private quarters on the upper floor and the living spaces on the ground floor. The solid geometric form of the structure is entirely wrapped in a series of blinds, wooden louvres from the street facade and smart blinds, which become part of the structure on the rear elevation. The occupants have the options of enjoying absolute privacy within the closed space or of choosing an endless number of configurations as each section of the blinds function independently. According to the chosen combination, sunlight, shade and even views are controlled, changing the dynamics of the house both inside and outside.

The contemporary interior features concrete and wood and a notable ‘floating’ wood staircase against a wall of raw pre-cast concrete and glass supports, enhancing the clean open feel of minimalistic elegance which exists throughout the home. The living space connects with a large garden with pool and deck, perfect for indoor/outdoor living.
