The flagship store in Rome for the American shoe designer Stuart Weitzman was designed by the Milan based practice of Novembre, under the direction of the architect and designer, Fabio Novembre. His concept for the design was based on the desirability of shoes in the lives of many women, a passion that we can relate to through the likes of Imelda Marcos and Carrie Bradshaw! As such, he saw the store as a glorious gift wrapped box containing the precious product.

He achieved this by following the Christo aesthetic and created a stream of ribbon, winding and curving on all surfaces of the store, providing display units on the walls and walkways on the floor. From a street view through the blue framed window, the luxurious colour palette of off-white ribbons on a rich cream background is an hypnotic sight which is likely to be repeated before too long in other European cities as Stuart Weitzman opens further stores and brings joy to women of all ages.
