An extremely classy addition to the upmarket area of Sloane Street in London is the recently opened Saint Laurent store. Following his controversial rebranding of the retail outlets of the prestigious French fashion house, creative director Hedi Slimane has not only attracted a new generation of young fashionistas to the historic brand but is also the creative genius behind the design of the stunningly luxurious Saint Laurent stores.

The Sloane Street store follows the inspirational concept of the Paris flagship store, a design ‘based on a minimalist translation of the techniques and materials of the French Modernist movement’. The three levels of the marble clad interior is a mirage of opulence with shimmering reflective surfaces and 1930s inspired mirrored vitrines of gold and silver. Polished chrome railings contrast with exposed concrete surfaces and black leather upholstered seats.

Vintage pieces by Modernist designers including Jacques Adnet, Rene Herbst and Marcel Breuer complete the design concept which speaks for itself as the epitome of luxury and opulence. A timeless elegance which adapts itself to a number of locations and environments, much like the fashion house itself and the pioneering vision of Hedi Slimane!
