Toronto city dwellers are well aware of the reputation of the King West area and its popularity with singles and couples who choose to live there, due to its close proximity to the lively club and bar scene and city center. It is the vibrancy of King West which formed the inspiration for the interior of a small loft space project undertaken by the practice of RAD Design Inc.

To a striking backdrop of the urban cityscape visible through the windows of the loft, a comfortable habitat has been created, its raw concrete ceiling and columns in no way diminishing the warmth of the space. This is in part due to the rich walnut cabinetry and the selection of the much loved classic design piece of furniture and fittings.

Where to begin! A glorious spidery Moooi chandelier illuminates the living space where the retro Barcelona chairs and Roche Bobois pieces set the scene for what lies ahead. A Scavolini kitchen is tucked up against a dividing wall along with Stool_One stools from Magis. The use of colour within the basically neutral palette of the space, in particular in the bright pink bedroom carpet, just visible from the living area, and the vibrant contemporary artwork, add a dynamic energy and the eye is drawn to another dimension of the space. An interior which achieves its goal of creating a residence which is perfectly integrated within the lively neighbourhood of King West.
