A recent project of the architectural practice of Nikos Gylos is DON Barber and Groom, a barber’s shop located in the downtown area of Kolonaki. From the transparent facade and entrance sign depicting a moustached DON and a silhouette of a barber and his client on a subtle green background, the high design aesthetic of the establishment becomes apparent.
On entering, the interior typifies a male domain which embraces a contemporary take on old world elegance which offers a high degree of comfort for its discerning clientele. Comfortable leather chairs greet the customer and a choice of high-end products for male grooming are displayed against a brown faceted wall.
At the rear, stairs lead to a mezzanine level to a space for services ranging from a manicure to back massage, perfect for the man about town. Don Barber and Groom is an intimate space with supports ‘a return to the classic male values’.
