Deepcove is a very beautiful house designed by Robert Bailey with a great emphasis and attention on every detail. Below you will find a description concerning the project scope and the process behind the completion of the project by Robert Bailey:

"As interior designers we designed and specified all the of interior spaces, casework, finishes and furniture. We also fine tuned all of the interior planning for the home and monitored construction from the ground up.

The home interior design began during site preparation (the home is a new build), our first site visit was during excavation. The project time line was four years, from our introduction to the client's...  through installation of the furniture.

The home was designed to be casual and easy to live in. On the main floor (which is accessed at grade), all flooring is a large scale porcelain ceramic tile. Materials throughout are highly forgiving and allow for use, with low maitainance.  The overall concept is a west coast contemporary home that is modern and warm. The palette is neutral drawing numerous tones and values from the natural materials used; such as the walnut and blue stone. On the lower floor and upper level the flooring is a mocha stained oak with a slightly brushed finish.

Much of the millwork is executed in walnut, to balance the expansive stone used in the interior.  To provide a lighter solution to the kitchen glass faced cabinets were selected for their reflective quality. Although classic in it's appearance we tried to keep the interior fresh and young to suit the owners and their lifestyle.

The main floor of the house is consciously open plan. You enter through a flush walnut door into the entry foyer which is adjacent to the interconnecting custom stair. The stair was constructed of steel with concrete treads, glass guard rails and walnut hand rails. A three storey blue stone wall links the floors making a strong vertical statement. The great room is flanked by the kitchen and den ( which shares a two sided fireplace ). More separate is the formal dining room which has a glass enclosed stair to the wine cellar on the lower floor. There is also a fabric walled home theatre, with deep comfortable sofas, and a giant projection screen.

All the main floor water side rooms have glazed folding walls that open the rooms up to large terraces and the pool. There are numerous seating areas, including one positioned to anchor an outdoor fireplace and wall mounted TV.

On the lower floor the large lounge room is multi purpose both for entertaining and children's playroom. In the lounge room there is a long fully functional bar, multiple viewing screens and a fire wall with alternative fuel burners. The wine cellar is visible through floor to ceiling clear glass walls, and fitted out with walnut cabinets. Also on this level is a home spa with large steam room and sauna. There is also a separate nanny suite.

The upper floor rooms are reached from an open to the entrance (below) hallway. There are four bedrooms in total all with ensuite bathrooms (one shared). All of the bedrooms take advantage of the waterfront views and there is a walk out deck accessible from each bedroom. The master bedroom is backed by a large his + hers bathroom, complete with individual walk in closets.

Most of the furniture (both casegoods and softgoods) were custom designed to our specifications. This allowed for exacting proportions and harmonious finishes throughout."
