Airports around the world are increasingly breaking the mould as to what type of experience or, better yet, architecture should be offered to their travellers. Ranging from visually charged areas flirting with maximalism, to areas offering quasi-futuristic concepts with metallic and led lights.
Set into the residual space of a major architectural restoration, Ricard Camarena Restaurant in Valencia, Spain respects the industrial architecture of a notable art deco building. Bombas Gens remained a dilapidated, abandoned factory until recently converted into a centre of art by Fundació Per Amor a l’Art.
Based in rural spain,Francesc Rifé Studio have renovated an old farmhouse. ‘empordà house’ is a project that combines old with the new in the most subtle manner. the owner’s interest in furniture by jean prouvé and charlotte perriand influenced the interiors while the extension itself stems from their respect to the local, rural architecture of the empordà.
Located in the heart of Valencia, Spain, just 200m from the Valencia Cathedral, Francesc Rife designed the first historical monument-hotel of the city, the 5 star Caro Hotel; a former Palace of the Marquis de Caro.
