German-born, British-based designer Nicholas Kirkwood launched his new boutique in Mount Street, London with a magical collection dedicated to the activist and pop artist Keith Haring. The designer takes Haring's iconic images and figures and recreates them with shoe designs. Some models are embellished with thousands Swarovski crystals.

The collaboration can been seen at the Arnhem Mode Bienalle in Netherlands, where the designer has installed nine pairs of shoes in an iconic Pop Shop. “This has been a passion project,” says Kirkwood. “I actually studied fine art at Central Saint Martins and the combination of fashion and art is very interesting for me. I never claim to be an artist. I’m a designer. But I think there are areas in which they can merge, and that overlap is exciting,” he adds..
