Currently on show as part of the INTERNI Hybrid Architecture and Design Exhibition for the Milan Design Week is the Pure Capsule Collection, a series of footwear designed by well known French architect Jean Nouvel for Ruco, the Italian shoe brand.

For Jean Nouvel, it is an adventurous introduction into the world of footwear design and in particular to design a shoe which is broken down to the very essence of what a shoe should be, well designed, comfortable and of the finest materials, in fact the archetypical shoe reduced to its basic form. The design in question resembles a low cut boot with a side zip for ease of wear made of contoured leather in the shape of a sports shoe which comfortably hugs the foot.

The production of the shoe was executed by Ruco and will go on sale in a variety of colours including white, black yellow and fluorescent pink, a colour chosen for its dynamism and feminine energy. The simple graphic element on the exterior of the shoe is a series of letters and numbers which represent the details, size, colour and code number, a meaningful element, usually seen to identify an object of great value.
