An exciting new item of furniture by the Japanese artist and designer Tokujin Yoshioka is due to be launched at the 2014 Salone del Mobile in Milan. Designed for the Italian firm of Glasitalia, it is an expansion of the PRISM collection which  was produced in 2013. As with many of the designs and installations of Tokujin Yoshioka, the seemingly uncomplicated simplicity of form for which his work is noted, is brought into realisation only after an extensive amount of research into pioneering techniques.

The Mirror Table is no exception, sculptural and minimalistic in design, its material of thick transparent glass appears to expand its immediate surroundings through a highly reflective surface which glistens and shimmers as though it were a crystal clear pool of still water, struck by a ray of sunlight to produce a prism like effect. As in the past, this is another unique design of the artist who constantly delights through his work with mirrors, glass, crystals and reflective surfaces.
